Standards provide guidelines for manufacturers, installers and inspectors to ensure that wind turbines are supplied safely, efficiently and reliably because, for example, cables and electrical lines comply with quality and safety standards. Connection solutions from LAPP comply with these standards. An overview of the key standards.
VDE (Association for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies)
IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission)
BS (British Standards)
The requirements for cables, cable glands, wires and connectors in wind turbines are extremely high in terms of temperature resistance, vibration resistance and torsional strength. On the one hand, this is due to the very different climatic conditions and specific technical requirements. At LAPP, we have been facing up to this challenge for many years and offer high-quality, innovative solutions.
Our highly flexible and abrasion-resistant cables and cable glands for wind turbines are designed for a temperature range of -40 to +90°C, are UV-resistant and are more than a match for the prevailing mechanical forces. And that over many years.
Only if all components are optimally coordinated and of the highest quality can service life or system failures be permanently avoided. This is why high-quality products and easy assembly are crucial factors when it comes to selection. If one cable becomes brittle or malfunctions, it affects all other cables from the same reel. Since new installations and removals can be very expensive, investing in durable and high-quality materials is worthwhile in the long run.
The high quality of our products is constantly ensured in our own modern test centres. The global network with its own in-house production in the main markets gives our international customers the security of being able to access a large assortment of standard products with the corresponding standards all over the world.
LAPP can draw on its extensive experience of over 50 years of development and manufacturing, and has built on this to develop various innovations and a high level of production quality and reliability.
At LAPP, we are able to provide you with comprehensive support in the realisation of your wind farm project - from the design-in process for the cabling of the wind turbine to the connection of your wind turbine to the power grid.
